Fête de la Musique is a free music festival, an ode to the diversity of music. It is carried by volunteers, neighbors, friends and also the artists play against minimal expenses, if any.
Meanwhile, it is often a spectacle of various music, from very subdued harp between the bushes, rotary organ, Cape Verde music, Burundi drums, Armenian fluteists, singer songwriters to Gipsy fusion, ska, punk and fanfare.
Fête de la Musique is originally a French idea but is now celebrated worldwide in more than 300 cities.
The Inkijkmuseum organizes this since 2009, almost without interruption, on 21 June, the international day of music.
Fête de la Musique thus has an audience of lovers who come to the small acts, enthusiasts of the Inkijk Museum and friends from the music and the surrounding area.
Program consists of a 7/10 number of small acts plus 2 or 3 bands.
All acts play a short set of 20 to 30 minutes.
And fat good and happy band at the end plays a little longer.
