It is exactly 50 years ago this summer that the legendary music festival WOODSTOCK - the mother of all festivals - took place on a farmer's field near Bethel, New York. During a rainy weekend in August 1969 it was 'Three Days of Peace and Music' where more than 400,000 people experienced unforgettable performances by Jimi Hendrix, Joe Cocker, Santana, The Who, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Joan Baezen Crosby, Stills & Nash. Director Michael Wadleigh was there and made a three-hour music documentary that was screened in the cinema in 1970 and was finally awarded an Oscar © in the category 'Best Documentary'. To celebrate 50 years of WOODSTOCK, Warner Bros. Pictures the music documentary of the same name once again in the Dutch cinema for a special screening. It concerns the 'Director's Cut' of the film with a playing time of 3 hours and 44 minutes, including an intermission (pause). The documentary contains unique atmospheric images, interviews and of course lots of music.
