Sports and recreation area Genneper Parken in the south of Eindhoven is a bit of an "odd one out". Being close to the city centre, this area is the gateway by which people leave the hustle and bustle of the city and enter the beautiful nature of De Groote Heide. Genneper Parken is a very attractive old and well-preserved man-made landscape, intersected by the Dommel and Tongelreep, that is ideal for a nice walk.

Through the presence of the Dommel and Tongelreep, Genneper Parken is also a highly interesting brook valley that is part of the main ecological structure of the Netherlands. Several shorter hiking routes are signposted and by following the Tongelreep towards Aalst and Valkenswaard De Groote Heide is within easy reach.
A beautiful landscape on the outskirts of the city, yet close to the centre of Eindhoven, Genneper Parken is home to various facilities for those looking for an active, cultural, relaxing or simply fun day out. To name just a few options: a round of mini golf, a visit to the prehistoric village or the Genneper Hoeve, or a swim in the Pieter van den Hoogenband swimming pool.
